What Makes A Home Stand The Test of Time? Part 3: “Behind The Walls”

23rd August 2019

Our industry has come under considerable scrutiny recently, from both the public and the media, regarding the construction quality of residential projects of every size and scale. Quality, however, doesn’t happen by accident and reputations are built over many years rather than overnight.

Quality means doing it right when no one is looking and agonising over the smallest details. This is indeed the case when it comes to Mirvac - over our 47-year history we have designed and built some of Australia’s most significant buildings and communities - all founded on customer trust built through quality.
An exceptional example of our pursuit to create trusted, high-quality homes can be found on the cusp of the Melbourne CBD, at our award-winning riverfront community, Yarra’s Edge. Yarra’s Edge is a living example of constantly evolving - yet it demonstrates timeless-design - and over its 18-year construction journey has become a true residential landmark. Showcasing a diverse array of design-driven residences, Yarra’s Edge is comprised of our Voyager tower which has recently commenced construction, grand Wharfside residences and the award-winning Forge residential building - all of which are situated on the north facing bank of the Yarra River.

When planning any new Mirvac project, it is vitally important that we endeavour to inspire residents every day through our proven design principles, quality fittings and attention to detail. In the case of Yarra’s Edge, these inspiring details emerge in our corner Wharfside Residence via the Apaiser stone freestanding bath and basins, incorporation of extensive timber veneer flush panel joinery, and private lifts to whisk residents up to a rooftop terrace for CBD views - all included as standard.

Design integrity has become a key marker of Mirvac homes. It is a point of difference that serves residents well, and is a key determining factor in adding a price premium when it comes time to sell. Design integrity and quality is at the very heart of Mirvac and is an ethos we are extremely proud of.
