Work Club Global opens exclusive offering at Olderfleet

19th November 2020

Mirvac, and co-owner Suntec Real Estate Investment Trust, today announce the opening of a premium Work Club Global offering at Olderfleet.

The opening of Work Club at Olderfleet, 477 Collins Street, Melbourne will provide members and tenants with access to flexible pro-working spaces, private suites, an exclusive Club Lounge, a concept retail store & café and a Nordic-inspired basement bar set over 4,000sqm in the iconic Olderfleet building. In a unique partnership, Work Club will also provide a hotel-style concierge service for the entire building and run a program of curated experiences that will foster a thriving business community at the precinct.

Work Club’s private workspaces occupy the three heritage buildings at Olderfleet which were built between 1887 and 1889, bringing together the ‘old world’ charm of the Gothic and Romanesque Victorian architecture with an innovative new working experience.

Mirvac’s Head of Commercial Property, Campbell Hanan, said, “A key focus for the workplace of the future, post COVID-19, will be to facilitate collaboration and creativity, providing engaging experiences for employees, partners, and visitors. People have been missing face-to-face interaction, with many looking to return to the office to re-connect with their colleagues and clients.

“By partnering with Work Club, we are providing exceptional and innovative experiences for customers alongside greater flexibility to work in a range of interesting and purpose-built environments throughout the Olderfleet precinct.”

The bespoke offerings that Work Club will deliver at Olderfleet present a premium, luxury working experience for tenants, members and visitors to the building. The concierge service is akin to that of a five-star hotel, where employees can drop off dry cleaning or have dinner arranged at one of Melbourne’s dining hotspots. The concierge team will also work to create connections for tenants to build the Olderfleet community, hosting ‘Florence Guild’ events from conferences to workshops and salons, educating, and inspiring the workforce.

The exclusive Club Lounge offers a chance to collaborate, dine, relax, and unwind, with fully serviced and completely flexible spaces to work and meet – from informal conversation pods to conference rooms and pitch environments, with a range of food and beverage options available throughout the day. While the new underground bar, Valhalla Bar, located in the cellar, is set to become one of the city’s newest hidden gems.

Work Club Founder Soren Trampedach said, “We admire Mirvac for building one of the most progressive buildings in Australia and we’re eager to be a part of this next-generation workplace. Mirvac has provided a smart building from a technology and infrastructure perspective, and we have collaborated to deliver a smart building from a people perspective.

“Our philosophy at Work Club is about building connected human ecosystems to deliver meaningful encounters and conversations, creating a place for people to belong. For the first time, we will be extending our concierge service beyond just our members to all tenants at Olderfleet, helping to foster a connected business community. We’re thrilled to have been given the opportunity to work closely with Mirvac to achieve this.”

Work Club will also provide boutique premium workspaces and private suites for up to 150 people, conference and meeting facilities with and three bespoke hospitality environments exclusive to their business model, including:

  • Valhalla Bar: A glorious underground retreat in the basement of the heritage buildings. With Scandinavian simplicity at its core, guests will be treated to a range of modern and seasonal signature cocktails, all crafted from locally sourced produce and artisan ingredients. Open to the public from 5pm till late.
  • The Club lounge: The Atrium space is exclusive for members and tenants (located on a sub-level of the lobby) and framed by a 25-metre-high glass ceiling, the Club lounge is appointed with Italian leather furniture and raw timber.
  • SAGAS Retail Café: SAGAS is a concept retail store and café space (on the ground floor of the heritage building) serving locally roasted Square One coffee and delicious pastries by Söt by Mörk: providing an alternative working and meeting space for tenants and Melbournians alike. It also showcases a collection of 15 artisan homewares, accessory, and apparel brands from all over the world with unique products that tell a story from their homeland.

Work Club’s carefully curated member base ensures a diversity of ideas and experiences, bringing together members from across industry, art, sports, politics and academia.

Olderfleet was officially complete earlier this year, with Mirvac set to replicate its success across a significant pipeline of Melbourne projects, including 383 La Trobe Street and Flinders West at the corner of Flinders and Spencer Streets.
