Mates on The Move (MoTM), one of Mirvac’s social enterprise partners has been named as a finalist for the Social Traders 2022 National Game Changer Awards.
These awards recognise the pioneers leading the way in #socialenterprise procurement and demonstrate how #business4good is catching on.
Mirvac has worked with MoTM since 2017. Since then we have embedded their services into our business across several aspects of waste management, circular economy and fit-out and refurbishment initiatives.
For example, MoTM has helped Mirvac to:
- Divert almost 400 tonnes of coffee cups and paper towels from landfill.
- Identify solutions to other waste streams including polystyrene, glass, CDS, milk/bread crates, pallets, metals, furniture, and fittings.
- Recycle and repurpose more than 1,740 items from the 55 Pitt Street development site - approximately 900 cubic metres worth an estimated $174,000.

Mirvac and Suncorp join Brisbane City Council to unveil Brisbane CBD’s first sport courts
Mirvac, M&G Real Estate and Suncorp have completed works on a new community sport facility on the corner of Roma and Turbot Streets, the result of a $1.5m investment and 12-month revitalisation of a section of underpass to create the first facility of its kind in the Brisbane CBD.
Mirvac acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the Traditional Owners of the lands and waters of Australia, and we offer our respect to their Elders past and present.
