Global business leaders are calling for more concrete commitments to sustainability.
The 12th annual CEO study of sustainability, from the United Nations Global Compact and Accenture, released this week at the World Economic Forum in Davos, draws on insights from more than 2,600 CEOs across 128 countries and 18 industries.
87% say they need the tools for stronger climate scenario planning and analysis.
CEO & Managing Director of Mirvac, Susan Lloyd-Hurwitz, who took part in the study, said: “At Mirvac, we are making investments in robust climate risk assessments and scenario modelling to understand potential future realities.
“We are leveraging this to educate our executive team to create our overall organisational resilience strategy.”
As the halfway point to achieving the 2030 Agenda for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is approaching, the group is also calling for more concrete commitments to sustainability and greater innovation.
“We would like to see sustainability requirements driving research and development and innovation. For example, we are keen to see more R&D into creating lower-carbon materials to reduce industry emissions,” Ms Lloyd-Hurwitz said.
