Mirvac Continues Partnership with Social Traders to Support Social Enterprises

30th April 2025

Mirvac is excited to welcome the second cohort of social enterprises in the Supplier Development Program, run in partnership with Social Traders.

Sarah Clarke, Mirvac Group General Manager, Sustainability, highlighted the importance of this support: "Social enterprises are businesses that aim to improve communities and tackle issues like environmental sustainability, social justice, and economic empowerment," she said.

"They help build the skills and knowledge needed for meaningful change. Our goal is to help these enterprises scale up to do more business with larger organisations like Mirvac so they can grow.

“Using suppliers who make a positive social impact allows us to use our purchasing power for good."

“This partnership shows Mirvac's commitment to supporting social enterprises and making a positive impact in our communities”

The Supplier Development Program is designed to boost the capability and capacity of certified social enterprises, enabling them to handle larger contracts. Now in its second year, Mirvac is partnering with Social Traders to deliver this program to six social enterprises:

As part of the program, Mirvac mentors will share their skills and expertise with these social enterprises, helping them become 'revenue ready' to supply materials and services to large businesses like Mirvac.

Tara Anderson, CEO Social Traders commented further on the partnership: “The Supplier Development Program sets a new standard for sustainable business practices in Australia.

“We believe social procurement is a tangible way for organisation to use the money they’re already spending today, to contribute to a better tomorrow. We're thrilled to continue partnering with one of our founding members Mirvac, to deliver and report on their commitment to social procurement and to support the growth of social enterprises in Australia."

Mirvac acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the Traditional Owners of the lands and waters of Australia, and we offer our respect to their Elders past and present.
