A crucial driver in creating and cultivating great residential design that stands the test of time is understanding that no matter where you live it is important to feel part of a community and be surrounded by inspiring spaces.

Creating Inspiring Places

A crucial driver in creating and cultivating great residential design that stands the test of time is understanding that no matter where you live it is important to feel part of a community and be surrounded by inspiring spaces. All these aspects play a pivotal role in making a house into a home.

As the property market continues to change and evolve, these buyer motivations and needs remain ever-constant and it is something that we at Mirvac put extremely high emphasis on; a passion to create vibrant places that contribute positively to residents’ lives and leave a real legacy is integral to the Mirvac DNA.

One of the many ways we aim to create inspiring places throughout our masterplanned community projects is through thoughtful landscape design that incorporates and optimises surrounding geographical characteristics to fulfill the potential of open public space. We focus on the spaces between buildings as much as the buildings themselves.
This can be seen in our Iluma and Osprey Waters developments in Western Australia. Although the two projects have obvious differences, they share a common goal of activation, curation and engagement.

Iluma’s first public space, Pegasus Park, is a great example of a space Mirvac has developed that is inspired by changes to technology and is committed to allowing the community to get active. It is groundbreaking in many ways as it features a Wi-Fi enabled solar-powered bench for busy parents needing to ‘recharge’ while the kids race around the little athletics track or play in the parkland.

Osprey Waters’ idyllic surrounds are also a source of inspiration to all those that live and visit the area. A key focus for the development was to ensure that the built and natural environments were integrated as seamlessly as possible, with the ultimate goal of creating a picturesque community that connected its residents to the parkland and waterfront lifestyle - a vision that saw the development awarded the 2017 National UDIA Environmental Award for Excellence.

Over our 47-year history, Mirvac has listened, collaborated and created genuinely inspiring and inclusive places to live across Australia. These two communities are examples of our whole of place response that is implemented in all our markets and we look forward to continuing to create homes and communities that cater for a diverse array of cultures, needs and lifestyles well into the future.
